How we build effective storage systems

How we build effective storage systems

Often our customers come to us with a storage dilemma.

They need storage but don’t know where to start, or they have storage that simply isn’t working for them. This is where we step in and work with our customers to ensure they have the storage they deserve and that brings excellence to their storage, order picking facility, trade counter or business.

Whether it's improving workshop organisation, streamlining warehouse storage, or creating an effective parts segregation system, we take the time to assess your needs and agree on a solution that delivers real results.

Understanding the challenge

We always understand the challenges our customers are facing. Is it that the storage they have doesn’t work anymore. Do they want storage that is easier to access or perhaps made from recyclable materials? Do they want a bespoke solution or will our existing range of Kbins work? Do they need the bins to wipeable or disinfected? What is the size of racking or space that we have to work with? What products will be stored in there and how often will they be accessed? Is it an archive storage solution that is required?

By clearly understanding the challenge, the workflow and operational processes of the business, and the desired outcomes we can ensure we make the correct suggestions to achieve success.

Evaluating the options

Once we understand what our customer needs, or the type of thing they are looking for, we can begin to evaluate our options, whether that’s off the shelf, bespoke or a mixture of both.

Our bins come in a range of sizes; however bespoke sizes can be specified and manufactured also. Our bins are compatible with standard racking sizes; however, we also have our Pallite PIX® units. These are heavy duty storage grids in which our bins also fit and which can be moved by FLT bringing even greater flexibility to any business where access to product is key.

Agreeing the solution

Once all possibilities have been evaluated, a solution is agreed with the customer. This solution will fulfil the brief and we will ensure that it maximises space utilisation and efficiency so that those finding the products, picking the order or carrying out stock replenishment will be supported in those tasks.

As part of that solution, we will also have supported any future growth and development of the business so that this can be integrated into this storage solution specification wherever possible.

Looking to the future

As businesses hopefully grow and evolve, storage is often key to the ongoing success. This is especially relevant in ecommerce, trade counters and warehouses where order picking is key to operations and in businesses where stock changes and evolves regularly.

The nature of Kbins allows for storage to adapt with the business with relative ease, upscaling and adding more product or ordering new bins, perhaps in an alternative size, when others are no longer suitable.

It’s about being agile and it’s all about how we make it possible for our customers.

Jake Ward, Business Development Manager, Kbins commented; “We know that no two storage systems are the same and this is the beauty of Kbins – a flexible and agile system with products that can be combined to deliver maximum efficiency, or a completely bespoke system.

“It’s about working with our customers, when they need more than ordering online, and supporting them to develop and deliver a solution that makes a real difference to their operational efficiency.”
