Workplace Products is a leading supplier of Industrial Equipment.
It has over four decades of experience in its field providing a huge range of products to support all types of working environment.
Once again, Kbins was delighted to partner with the team at Workplace Products to provide an innovative, bespoke solution for one of its customers.
Objective
The brief from the customer was to maximise the available warehouse and order picking space to enable them to increase the amount of pick locations available.
Organised space in the warehouse and logistics sector is imperative to ensure operational efficiencies are maximised and that order pickers are supported to achieve target KPIs and fulfil customer expectations.
Kbins was tasked with evaluating the current order picking and shelving layout and creating a bespoke solution to meet the customer objectives.
Solution
As an existing supplier to the Workplace Products team of both off the shelf and bespoke solutions the team knew a solution could be found to their customer challenges.
Initially, a site visit was undertaken by the Kbins team where it was ascertained that a bespoke tote bin was required, designed and manufactured to exact sizes for the racking which measured 2000H x 2000W x 600D.
All bins measured 600 x 300 x 200 and were a strong, durable stacking bin with a lower front panel, manufactured from EB flute double walled material with triple thickness side walls and lower front panel to create the stacking strength.
A corner post was created and manufactured by extending the internal side wall so there was a 45% support in each corner to maximise stability when stacked.
Outcome
The project was a huge success with both Workplace Products and their onward customer delighted with the outcome.
Expected results have been achieved with more orders picked during the working day due to easier location of product and easier access to the products required.
Kbins accurately demonstrated how their products support shelving companies, pick faces, storage facilities, trade counters and more to manage stock effectively, order pick efficiently and support their teams to locate and pick product in a timely manner, all whilst maximising the use of available space.
